St Patrick’s Day Parade: Year of the Fire Horse

March 17 @ 11:30 14:30

Join us in the town centre for the annual St Patrick’s Day Parade! Lead by Athenry Primary School’s Medieval Band, the parade will wind through the centre of town showing off amazing floats and artistry of local community groups.

This year, we celebrate the Year of the Fire Horse. In the Lunar calendar, this year is the year of the Fire Horse, a symbol of bold change, fiery passion, momentum, and freedom. Progress and forward motion.

This theme of creativity and pioneering spirit reflects the people of Athenry: an ancient town that shrugs off the shackles of sameness and seeks out the different and new; and always with pride of place.

All clubs, groups, businesses, organisations, etc. are welcome to participate in this free event. Register your float at the link below.

This year, Athenry Community Council will be hosting a special community lotto draw on parade day.

All lotto tickets purchased on Thursday, 12 March, will be entered into an extra draw on Paddy’s Day, with the chance to win €1,000.
