SUMMARY:Haunted Heritage Walk
DESCRIPTION:Athenry Community Council and Gliondar Arts Group present a new Halloween event that will bring history back from the dead! \n\n\n\nDrag your bones through the town centre for a historical walking tour with a haunted twist. Gliondar storytellers will weave tales (true and imagined) along the route\, stopping at local haunts like Athenry Castle\, the market square\, the priory and more to listen to spooky tales guaranteed to give you goosebumps! \n\n\n\nHere’s what you need to know: \n\n\n\nWalking tours start from the community hall and last approximately 20 minutes. The tour goes through the town centre and return to the community hall. \n\n\n\nThis is a family friendly event and children are encouraged to bring a torch and dress in costume! \n\n\n\nThe tour will be outdoors\, please dress accordingly. \n\n\n\nRefreshments will be for purchase in the community hall\, in support of Athenry Swans Hockey Club. \n\n\n\nThe last tour leaves at 7:30 p.m. from the community hall. \n\n\n\nParking is available at Kenny Park or on the street. \n\n\n\nThis free event is funded by Galway County Council Community Support Scheme.
